Chapter 25 - Prince of Light

Prince Ghalan the Paladin Deva arrives in Moonstair togheter with the Baron of Perenon. Zakonik and Daedrie take possession of the now empty caves of the Great Warren, while Druss has a meeting with the Baron, informing him that his ancestral sword is in a safe place, but he's not yet ready to deliver it.

The Baron is distressed by the news, but trusts that the heroes will take the right decision. Druss leaves Moonstair to discuss the matter with Zakonik and Daedrie.

In the meanwhile, Neri visits the encampment of the Red Priest, to try and get more informations out of Rudd, who apparently knows more about Sunwrath.

Rudd reveals that Sunwrath is one of the Nine Swords, the lost blades of the Sublime Way, apparently the only tools who can face the Weapon and hope to defeat the Emperor.

The heroes reunite in Moonstair, and decide that they will not give Sunwrath to the Baron, as they know that the Baron instends to deliver it to Ghalan.

The party instead meet the Prince near the Moon Door, to better understand his goals. Ghalan reveals them that all he wants is to use Sunwrath to force the Emperor to give up the Weapon, and return the Artifact to the Temple of the Sublime Way.

He also admits that, if the opportunity arises, he will not pass on the chance to kill his half-brother Tharod, since he believes he is utterly corrupted.

Even though they seem to believe in the noble intentions of the Prince, the heroes decide to keep Sunwrath for the moment. Ghalan accepts their decision, and actually shares informations about the whereabouts of Tharod.

The Devil Prince is planning a foray into the Underdark to recover Nightbringer, the Sword of the Shadow Discipline. If he obtains it, he will be able to become one of the Nine Masters of the Sublime Way, and earn his place at the court of the Master of Nine. Ghalan hopes the heroes will recover the sword before the tiefling noble, in order to thwart his plans.
