Chapter 55 - Bound Spirits

Our heroes return to Sigil, where Waylander reveals to the party his plans to usurp the power of the Raven Queen. Maleem the Sage reveals them that god-slaying is obviously not an easy task, but can be achieved by those mortals who wield a Shard of Pure Evil, a legendary component said to be harvested from the deepest layers where the Abyss itself is born. Our heroes fear that his shard is also what Orcus is after.

Back to Tyrrah, Rudd spends some time at the Temple of the Sublime Way, where he unlocks the last secrets of the White Raven discipline, and achieves complete mastery of the Blade of the Last Citadel.

In Moonstairs, Zakonik decides that the people of the Darklands need a symbol to look upon, and casts the magic die given to him by Ruby (who won it from the Wanderer himself at a card game). He reaches the tomb of the Red Priest, and throws the stone. The ground starts shaking, and a huge chatedral rises from the graveyard. The Cathedral has a strong resemblance to Athun's main church in Hammerborg. Zakonik enters the temple, and inside an old weathered man kneels in prayer. He wears the symbol of the Wanderer, a stone disc tied to his neck with a leather string. On the main altar of the Temple, something shines with mystical light... a reforged Sunwrath, the lost sword of the Sublime Way.

The party reunites in Zakonik's lair, where the minotaur summons Prince Ghalan, and gifts him with Sunwrath. The Deva prince informs them that, togheter with the Knights of the Sublime Way, he will mount an attack on the Forgemaster's citadel, to destroy once and for all the remaining Blackstone Weapons.

He also reveals that Exerion (the legitmate her to the throne of Aduria) has been found dead after the massacre of Windrock. With Adhemar not willing to become the Emperor, it seems princess Lorelei will be the next in line. Ghalan has passing thought of marrying the princess, but her heart is already belonging to another.

In a private ceremony officiated by Daedrie, the Princess and Rudd marry, and are blessed by the Spirits.

After one night to seal their vows, our heroes are ready to bring the fight to Orcus in his own realm. Daedrie activate the Staff Audaviator, and they step through a portal that will bring them to the Elemental Chaos, as near as they can be to Orcus's domain.
