Chapter 49 - Back Home

The heroes spend a few days at the Great Tree, where Daedrie receives more visions from the Ancient Spirits. She sees Tyrrah's doom, but at the same time, she receives a gift from the Tree: a Seed of pure light, cming from the Tree itself, that goes and set itself in Daedrie's heart.

Zakonik returns to his cave, where he broods over the loss of his barbabrian horde, awaiting for a sign from Athun. Having received no answer, the Minotaur decide to take matters into his hands, and act more decisively for the future.

Waylander return to Nyghtwyrm Fortress into the Shadowfell, where he receives an Sorrowsworn emissary of the Raven Queen: the goddess is displeased with Waylander, since many more undead now roam Tyrrah following the recent events at Windrock.

Rudd returns to Moonstair, where he informs what is left of his army about the happenings of the last weeks. Back to Moonstair keep, he receives a surprising visit: under disguise, Prince Ghalan and Princess Lorelei seek audience with him. Ghalan declares he'll give full support to Rudd, since he has recognized him and his companions as the only true heroes during the attack at Windrock. He urges Rudd to stop the flow of Blackstar Rock, since this seems to be the only way to inflict a serious blow to the Imperial War Machine.

Princes Lorelei also offer her help, in exchange of protection. She feels that only the White Raven can protect her from the fury of her father, and begs Rudd to let her stay in Moonstair, or to act as his spy in Hammerborg, if necessary. Worried for her safety, Rudd decides to keep her in his rooms in Moonstair under a disguise.

The party reunites in Moonstair, and decide to try to gather informations about Elder Arantham, the leader of the Ashen Covenant and servant of Orcus, who escaped them in Death Reach. He seems to be the only link they have to the Blackstar Stones. Daedrie reaches the Moon Door, and prepares to Consult the Oracles.
