Chapter 31 - Lost Souls

Daedrie raises Waylander and Ruby from the dead. Ruby, whom upon death had reverted to hr Changeling form, gives a few explanations to Zakonik and Daedrie. She had been spying on the Dark Elves for her mysterious patron, and was forced to maintain the masquerade also in front of them to not give herself away.

Waylander, on his way back from the Dead, meets what he believes to be a personification of the Raven Queen. The image tells him that the Raven Queen would never let an Undead serve her, and leaves him with dark thoughts.

Zakonik wields Nighbringer, and the sword begins to whisper to his mind. She promises great power, and a Kingdom once he will have taken care of her most hated enemy, Orcus himself.

The heroes decide to find out what happened to Druss and Sunwrath. Daedrie studies her rituals, and believes that a Consult Oracle spell could do the trick. Ruby also reveals that an Oracle exists in the Dragonlands, and might be worth consulting.

The party teleports to Magystria, where, through disguises and cunning, Ruby aquires the patter to access a Portal in the Dragonlands. Unfortunately, the Portal is closed, and the party decides to travel to the Holy Lands of the Light to aquire the Consult Oracle Ritual.

Ruby secures them passage to the lands of the Light, and togheter with Daedrie and Waylander, they make their way to Sunkeep. Zakonik decides to stay in Magystria, as he does not trust to carry Nightbringer in the Holy Lands.

In Sunkeep, Waylander is turned away by the Priests of the Light, due to his undead nature. Daedrie and Ruby try to aquire the magic scroll, but fail to proove their Faith in the Light, and are refused.

The party oes back to Magystria, to recover Zakonik, and then of to Fallcret, on their way to Moonstair, where they hope to reunite with the Red Priest and her army.

In Moonstair, they find the army of the Red Priest decimated and beaten, and they discover that the Red Priest is dead!

Rudd, general of the army, explains that they had met the undead host in battle, and found out that Lord Raven, lord of the undead, was is reality Aramus, the Red Priest's lost father. Unfortunately, Gyllen (the Red Priest) had met her father on the field, her piety had the best of her, and she did not strike him down. Lord Raven did not have such issues, and killed his own daughter.

Rudd, Zephyra and a few survivors escaped, but every attempt to raise Gyllen from the dead had failed. Zephyra explains that a Draconic entity seems to have stolen her soul, and will not give it back. She's planning to perform a public resurrection the day after, hoping the prayers of the citizen of Moonstair will help.

Daedrie performs a ritual to communicate with the soul of Gyllen, and gets confirmation that indeed her spirit is trapped in "the tallest spire of the Shadowfell".
