
Our heroes return to the Seven-Pillared Hall to rest, and then depart for the Tower of Mysteries. They locate a secret passage with the help of the Silver key, and enter the tower. There, they're forced to give up part of their essence to the guardian of the Tower, a spectral image of the Demon of Lies and Secrets, Vecna.
Once inside, they confront savage goblinoid called Norkers, weird servants of Vecna called Enigmas, and Broze Warder guardians.
Finally, they reach Paldemar sactum, and confront him. After a dangerous battle, where only Paldemar and his Bronze Warder bodyguard are left standing, the Heroes are defeated and made prisoners.
His friends watching, Dizantar is ritually killed by Paldemar, his soul consumed by the hunger of Vecna.
The remaining heroes manage to open their cell, only to find waiting for them Paldemar's Bronze Warder. Luckily, Druss, a human swordmage sent by the Mages of Saruun, is there to lend some aid, and togheter they destroy the golem.
After recovering their equipment, they face Paldemar one last time, and defeat him. In his rooms, they find the map for a place of "great power"called the Pyramid of Shadows.
The heroes return to the Seven Pillared Hall, where they cut all loose ends, and bid their farewells to all their recent acquantainces. Druss decides to follow them, in order to explore the above-ground world.
